“Great is thy faithfulness” aptly describes the way God has guided and nurtured the endeavors of the Christian Mission in the Far East.

OUR FOUNDER: Reverend aMADO L. cHANCO

Reverend Amado L. Chanco

Following the end of the WW II,  young Pastor Amado Chanco was gifted with a tent by an American military officer.  This tent became the first of eventually 150 churches that Pastor Chanco would plant.

Today, CMFE churches serve in Manila, Philippines and among the tribes in the southernmost island of the country, Mindanao. In the the jungles of Mindanao, Pastor Chanco was confronted by the great need to bring the gospel to the tribal people, including the Bilaan, T’boli, Mansaka, Tiruray, Bagobo and more. Miraculously, most of them were eager to hear God’s word and the message of salvation.  With the help of a tribal translator, many accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Now, numerous churches are thriving in the region.

Indeed, Reverend Chanco’s vision of evangelizing the ethnic tribes of the Philippines started with having first heard the Gospel through a "Bilaan" man.  The vision, aside from caring for the spiritual needs of the tribal people, also included a provision for literacy and vocational skills as well as helping provide for their physical and material needs.  Besides the churches, over time, the Mission also expanded to include four Bible schools, four Gethsemane Home Orphanages and a Mission School which included a junior college, and a medical clinic. However, after the death of Pastor Chanco, the Mission fell into terrible times and lost many of the churches, orphanages, school and clinic.

Today, a new day has dawned and revival continues.  The Lord is restoring the Mission to help those in need and to bring glory to His name. Lord willing, the church lands will be returned and the orphanages will open again. The number of homeless people, especially children in the city of Manila, continues to rise.

The tribal mission that spread to the lands of the Manobo, T'boli, Bilaan, Bogobo, Igorot, Ifugao, Aeta, Ilungot, Mansaka, and Kalingga continues to this day.

3 God, your God, will restore everything you lost; he’ll have compassion on you; he’ll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered.
